Job Summary
This job works under the direction of the Deputy General Counsel to provide legal support to Prisma Health.
Position Summary:
Prisma Health has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a General Counsel Associate - Supply Chain Management. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide independent, competent, timely legal advice and assistance to Prisma Health and its affiliates in the area of Supply Chain Management. The Assistant General Counsel will manage the contracting workload and processes for Supply Chain and other legal activities for Prisma Health. The ideal candidate will have strong legal and business acumen, a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal review, advice and drafting in negotiating commercial contracts for Supply Chain Management for the acquisition of goods and services, such as purchase, rental, services, consignment, and evaluation agreements for Prisma Health, assuring consistency with business terms, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal review, advice and drafting in negotiating software licenses, SAAS and technology agreements, assuring consistency with business terms, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal advice in relation to applicability of Anti-kickback statute and regulations in contracting matters.
- Upon request, provide legal advice to other departments of Prisma Health on contract matters and interpretation.
- Review and revise policies, procedures, and training materials as needed.
- Develop and update templates and support the implementation of the template library of contract provisions for purchase of services and goods.
- Develop training materials and provide legal training to assigned clients and contracting staff.
- Keep track of daily assignments within the contract life cycle management system and produce reports as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations and case law decisions that bear on contracting in the health care context.
- Translate complex legal matters into easily understood concepts for Prisma Health team members.
- Uphold ethical and legal standards in all aspects of the role, promoting a culture of integrity and compliance within the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education/Licensure: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required and admission to practice law in South Carolina or another state or the District of Columbia with the ability to obtain a limited certificate of admission for in-house counsel in South Carolina.
- Experience: 5+ years relevant experience, preferably with at least two (2) years of experience providing counsel to healthcare systems/providers.
