Job Description:
The Principal Automation Architect is responsible for managing a team or department to drive various engineering activities, including the design, acquisition, and deployment of hardware, software, and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are met within existing and planned frameworks.
We are seeking an experienced Principal Automation Engineer with expertise in Ansible, Chef, and other configuration management tools, as well as AI-driven solutions for automation and self-healing, such as IAOPS, to join our dynamic team in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing automated infrastructure and application deployment solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the financial industry.
Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, and implement automation solutions using Ansible, Chef, and other configuration management tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Leverage AI-driven solutions such as IAOPS to enhance automation capabilities, predictive analytics, and self-healing mechanisms for infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into automated workflows and processes.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks, playbooks, and recipes to automate routine tasks, configuration management, and application deployment.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOX, by implementing automated compliance checks and controls.
- Optimize infrastructure and application performance through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, promoting best practices and standards for automation and configuration management.
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance automation capabilities and drive operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering or related roles, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Proven expertise in Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Docker.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of financial business processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Experience with AI-driven automation solutions such as IAOPS, focusing on predictive analytics and self-healing mechanisms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Ansible, Chef, IAOPS, or related technologies.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
