Job Summary: The Forensic Psychiatrist position will directly provide competency, sanity, mental condition and unconditional release evaluations for assigned cases by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health. This position is considered fulltime (1.0 FTE) but there is the option to work part-time (<0.5 FTE), if preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for completing assigned cases on a quarterly basis.
Examples of Work Performed:
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Completion of Competency, Sanity, Unconditional Release Evaluations under CU-DHS Contract
- Consultation in Forensic Medical Legal Clinic
- Mentoring of Forensic Fellows/ Medical Students/ Residents if requested
- Participation in Forensic Clinical Strategic Plan
Work Location: Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of onsite at client locations as needed for in-person meetings, up to 2 days per week.

Senior Instructor:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Minimum Qualifications: MD/DO, CO Physician License or eligible for a CO Physician License
- Board Eligible or Certified in Psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trained in utilizing the Historical, Clinical and Risk 20, Version 3 and Hare Psychopathy Checklist - Revised.
- Experience with C.R.S. 16-8-120 regarding release examinations.

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $225,000-$250,000 (per 1.0 FTE). The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
