HCN seeks an experienced leader and visionary in business development to develop relationships with Pharma & Financial Services companies to provide “above the brand”, culturally driven consumer education information and resources serving Hispanic/Latino, Black/African-American, Native American, and Multicultural populations in ways that improve quality of life.
As the Strategic Partnerships BD Lead, you are a skilled and tenacious business development (BD) professional experienced in relationship building and sales to pharmaceutical and financial services clients. You will develop a portfolio of contracts/accounts, connecting with DEIA, branding, marketing, communications, and recruitment/retention teams within pharma and financial services companies. The core responsibility of this position is to secure contracts for HCN services through genuine relationship building and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Main Responsibilities:
- Work with the CEO, Chairman and a team of business development professionals to secure new multi-year, multi-million-dollar contracts or grant.
- Qualify, initiate and maintain relationships with prospective clients and partners – both within your existing book of business and new leads – that will drive new business.
- Fill and manage the sales pipeline with new contracts and grant proposals.
- Form alliances with other entities to jointly pursue funding opportunities.
- Participate in the proposal development process by contributing to technical narratives and budget developments.
- Develop and grow the Pharma and Financial Services pipeline with new contracts and grant prospects via outreach to potential new clients.
- Meet personal and team quarterly and annual financial targets.
- Secure HCN’s status as an approved and preferred service provider, leading to long-term, high-revenue contracts.
Daily/Weekly Tasks:
- Conduct BD sales calls and lead generation activities; pitch company services and unique value proposition via cold calls/emails/in-person.
- Attend networking opportunities, events and conferences, which will likely require travel.
- Tee-up meetings and leverage the CEO when needed for qualified high-level prospects.
- Formulate pitch strategies, including preparation of marketing materials and creative ways to maintain contact with new prospect relations.
- Track down hard-to-find contact information for key decision-makers.
- Lead HCN efforts to be represented at Pharma & Financial Services conferences and events, including securing positions for HCN subject matter experts on panel discussions, speaking arrangements, and expos/exhibits.
- Submit abstracts for HCN team members to speak or deliver presentations at high-visibility conferences and panel discussions.
- Use the company’s CRM platform (Salesforce, HubSpot) to document and track activity.
- Deliver daily activity reports to CEO.
- Deliver weekly metrics-driven goals: new prospects identified, cold calls executed, pitches conducted, proposals delivered.
- Excellent oral and written pitch skills: persuasive in-person, over the phone and via email.
- Proven portfolio of personally securing new multi-million- dollar, multi-year contracts; track record of persistent follow-up leading to conversions.
- Ability to learn and articulate a prospective client’s needs, goals, and pain points.
- Ability to contribute to the design and maintenance of effective marketing materials.
- Experience contributing to narrative-driven proposals, basic quotes and budgets.
- Knowledge of US Latino and Multicultural communities, as well as related issues around health equity, wealth generation, and social determinants of health.
- Command of SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HubSpot, Salesforce or similar CRM databases.
- Self-driven while also able to work with remote team members spread across multiple locations across the US and internationally.
- Well-organized and solid time manager; ability to meet fast deadlines.
- Resourceful with creative solutions .
- Knowledge and experience fundraising with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG leads in corporate arenas, including Pharma and Financial Services, is also a plus.
