ROLE SUMMARY:
Inspired Online Schools, part of the Inspired Education group, is a transformative group of online schools, including King’s InterHigh, the leading British Curriculum Online School with over 6,000 students globally. King's InterHigh has been at the forefront of online education, providing a complete online experience via our state-of-the-art learning portal and offering an excellent education without borders.
As a part of our mission to bring excellence in education to more students in the United States, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Academics to lead the development and implementation of our education program and curriculum. This senior leadership role is crucial to our mission of delivering an exceptional educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in curriculum development, best pedagogical practices, and current academic technologies. While online teaching experience is not required, it is highly desirable.
This hybrid position is based in the Washington, DC metro area, and in addition to the flexibility of remote work, the Head of Academics will be expected to come to our office several days a week as needed to engage directly with colleagues and foster strong professional relationships. This position will work closely with our global education team and will involve travel across the US and potentially abroad.

BENEFITS OF THE ROLE:
The salary range for this role is $100,000-$140,000 USD per annum. We offer a comprehensive package that includes a variety of medical and dental plans, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and a robust suite of personal well-being benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop a comprehensive and rigorous US-based online college-prep high school curriculum, with plans to expand to K-12.
- Lead the US accreditation process for a new US-based K-12 program.
- Lead the College Board course approval process, NCAA course approval process, and UC a-g course approval process.
- Integrate current academic technologies to enhance the learning experience and support innovative, synchronous learning environments.
- Implement and promote best pedagogical practices to create an engaging, effective, and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay current with educational research and trends to continuously improve instructional strategies and curriculum design.
- Recruit, hire, and manage a team of highly-qualified teachers.
- Provide ongoing professional development and support to ensure teachers are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive teaching community that encourages innovation and excellence.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure student progress and curriculum effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other school leaders to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for all students.
- Represent Inspired Online Schools at events, webinars, and other outreach activities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
- Proven expertise in K-12 curriculum development and instructional design. Experience in online teaching and learning environments desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of best pedagogical practices and current academic technologies. Familiarity with synchronous and asynchronous online learning models preferable.
- Experience with the College Board course approval process, UC a-g course approval process, and the NCAA course approval process.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in hiring, training, and supervising teachers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analytics and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

- Ability to travel within the US and abroad.
