Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer specializing in residential and commercial land development to join our team in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with expertise in planning, designing, and managing land development projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Lead and manage residential and commercial land development projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development projects including site grading, drainage, roadways, and utility infrastructure.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of permit applications and technical reports to regulatory agencies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact analyses.
- Perform complex calculations, modeling, and design using advanced engineering software and tools.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by junior engineers.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all engineering work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients and project teams.
- Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes.
- Team Mentorship and Development:
- Mentor and train junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support to enhance their skills and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on residential and commercial land development projects.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
