Description
The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level WOT (without tenure due to funding) with an interest in Genetic Cardiomyopathies, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and Associate Professors and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that all align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The successful candidate will primarily practice at UW Medical Center-Montlake in the Genetic Cardiomyopathy Clinic, seeing patients with Hypertrophic, Dilated, and Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathies. There may be additional clinics at other outpatient sites affiliated with the University of Washington Medical Center. The position includes engagement in patient care, scholarship, and medical education. Teaching duties will include attending on the inpatient Cardiology service, outpatient Cardiology clinic, and didactic lecturing. The anticipated start date will be July 1, 2024.
The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), moonlighting opportunities, and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan.
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in Cardiology (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Successful candidates must have an academic track record with evidence of publications. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
