DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & SALES
Salaried position at our Corporate Offices in Downtown Honolulu.
The Director of Marketing and Sales is ultimately responsible for the marketing, advertising, branding, and sales for The Plaza Assisted Living. The Director will develop and implement strategy and direction of the company's marketing and branding. The individual will develop strategy, implement action steps, and monitor The Plaza brand. The individual will maintain positive relationships with external professionals and community organizations capable of influencing referrals to the facility.
The Director is responsible for developing and implementing an annual and monthly Marketing Plan that will successfully position The Plaza as a leader in assisted living services and an annual and monthly Sales plan that will maximize census in The Plaza's communities.
The individual will be effective in managing marketing and advertising, building and maintaining a brand, and building census.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a management level Sales and/or Marketing role
- Preferred previous experience performing marketing and/or sales duties at an assisted living community
- Preferred degree in marketing or public relations, must minimally have an Associates and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Acceptable references

- Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to communicate well with individuals of varying backgrounds, abilities and expectations
- Good salesmanship skills and ability to educate referral sources about how services offered will meet the needs of their patients/clients

- Broad understanding of seniors and the aging process
- Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately
- A genuine interest in meeting the needs of seniors
- Excellent observation skills and ability to convey information in a persuasive manner
- Ability to complete required reports, admission paperwork and other required paperwork

- Completion of all employment paperwork, requirements, orientations, training/education as specified in Employee Handbook and Operating Policies and Procedures Manual
- Meets all requirements as established by regulatory guidelines that govern Assisted Living facility staff, Hawaii Administrative Rules, Department of Health, Title 11, Chapter 90
Duties:
- Development and implementation of monthly and yearly Marketing Plans in coordination with other team members, Administrators, Management Company & Consultants.
- Manage and direct advertising agency, if contracted.
- Build and manage The Plaza's brand identity.
- Monitor and analyze results of Marketing Plan and Advertising agency.
- Monitor effectiveness of public relations efforts and make necessary adjustments for optimal effectiveness. Conduct media relations programs and news releases in coordination with Management Company and Administrator.
- Direct Community Relations staff to effectively network and build potential referral sources.
- Take inquiries and conduct professional tours for prospects, family members and referral sources when assigned. Establish caring rapport with all who tour.
- Educate prospects and all who tour about services and amenities offered and how our community can meet their needs based on information they provide.
- Submit required reports in an accurate, timely manner to Supervisor/Management Company.
- Conduct, educate, communicate to sales team members at communities.
- Participate in departmental budgeting process and maintain departments within budget.
- Conduct ongoing research/analysis of community needs, competition, and overall community marketing and sales performance.
- Advise staff members on marketing issues and strategies.
- Inventory and maintain promotional materials and other marketing related supplies within budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain an advertising calendar and work closely with Advertising agencies/media sources to place appropriate paid advertising.
- Become familiar with and follow policies and procedures described in the Operating Policies and Procedures Manual and Emergency Manual.
- Ultimately responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources to achieve and maintain optimal occupancy levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Starting salary is $90,000 per year.
