The Sr. Product Marketing Manager for NGS Partnerships & Applications
is responsible for driving Illumina’s ecosystem partnership strategy to enable and accelerate the expansion of 3rd party applications and assays on Illumina NGS platforms. This position resides within the NGS Platforms and Multiomic Assays Product Management team. The successful candidate will be an independent, seasoned individual in the multiomic and multiomodal space who can build partner engagement strategy, lead cross-functional projects, act as the subject expert with internal stakeholders and our partners while building best-in-class marketing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the enablement and co-marketing of 3rd party applications and solutions to accelerate adoption and utilization of Illumina’s NGS portfolio
- Lead NGS system partnership workstream: develop partner engagement strategy and develop high-value end-to-end solutions, e.g., partnership prioritization, compatibility testing and enablement of sample to answer workflows
- Work proactively with Business Development and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate new opportunities
- Actively collaborate and manage relationships with partners – able to engage at all levels of the organization, e.g., Product Managers, Business Development, and R&D
- Work in tandem with regional marketing, product management, and sales organization to ensure alignment of strategy, messaging, and tactics
- Oversee development of sales enablement tools and assists sales teams by providing guidance for product messaging and positioning, objection handling and identifying target customers.
- Collaboratively work with the marketing leadership team and functional management to drive the business strategy
- Work across the organization and directly with customers and commercial to bring the voice of customer and voice of field into the overall strategic marketing plans
- Understand key business drivers, based on data and analytics, market trends and direct interaction with Commercial teams and customers.
- Partner with Commercial Organization and Regional Marketing to support them in interactions with existing and new customers
- Build close relationships with key partners, thought leaders, partners, and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or PhD a plus.
- Must have at least 5+ years of industry experience in Product Marketing or other customer-facing roles.
- Must have technical knowledge in NGS workflows.
- Must have analytical skills – ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy and make data-driven decisions is critical.
- Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully building new markets and market strategy is strongly preferred.
- Background in single cell, spatial, knowledge of multiomic applications is an asset.
Location at San Diego HQ is preferred; will consider alternative locations for exceptional candidates.
The estimated base salary range for the Senior Product Marketing Manager, NGS Partnerships & Applications role based in the United States of America is: $105,600 - $158,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
