Wage Range: $17.60 – $24.25 dependent on certification

Work hours are between 7 am and 5:30 pm dependent on the position and patient needs. Some positions may work on a Saturday rotation with hours between 7 am and 12 pm.

Responsibilities:

As our Optician, you will assist and educate patients in appropriate selection of optical goods for patient’s needs.

What You’ll Do Every Day

Take necessary measurements
Process orders, post charges, and enter insurance into the computer system
Dispense optical goods, as well as perform repairs & adjustments
Assist with contact lens teachings
Assist with inventory control, and answer department telephones

Qualifications & Skills Needed:

High school graduate
Optical experience
ABO certification is not mandatory, but opticians are encouraged to obtain certification
Adapt and fit corrective eyewear, including eyeglasses and contact lenses as prescribed
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills
Optical knowledge to educate patients regarding availability/use of optical products
Computer skills
