Position: Occupational Therapist

Description:

Occupational therapy and Occupational therapy assistance at Rise & Shine help support and provide services for children under 3 years of age in home, community, and group settings. The focus is on fine motor, self-help, and gross motor skills; incorporating the child’s priorities and concerns into the report; multidisciplinary evaluation of the child; family-directed assessment showing the child’s strengths and weaknesses; and identification of services appropriate to meet the child’s needs. Evaluation will include the client’s basic medical history, family information, and the milestones in each area of development.

Occupational therapists focus on helping children with fine motor, sensory, and/or gross motor developmental delays or disabilities to be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. Delivering appropriate education services that improve their language skills, as well as enhancing the child’s self-esteem and sense of accomplishment. Develop plans that outline goals and methods used and ensure the child’s advancement, as well as supporting the families.

Requirements:

License in OT from the state of California
Certificate required: First Aid and CPR
Knowledge of special education
Proficiency in writing and the ability to communicate clearly
Knowledge and proficiency in MS Word
Knowledge of the Internet and email

Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
