Coordinate underwriting staff activities to ensure timely and consistent decisions.

Act as a referral and mentor for the underwriting team.

Perform ongoing audits to ensure the quality of decisions and processes.

Provide underwriting support for eFinancial as well as outside distribution.

Serve as a liaison with third-party underwriter groups.

Act as a backup for the Chief Underwriter when not available.

Conduct research and development as required for reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

5+ years of management experience.

10+ years of underwriting experience.

BA/BS or equivalent required.

Strong life underwriting background with managerial experience.

Worksite or group underwriting experience is a plus.

Skills:

Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to apply sound underwriting principles in a highly professional manner.

Effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.

Ability to independently complete research and development projects.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and other software programs.
