Job Description

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for the oversight of all accounting processes at the hotel. Responsibilities include posting monthly transactions, preparing monthly invoices and statements, posting cash receipts and wire transfers, reconciling A/R trial balance to General Ledger as needed, communicating with customers regarding collection issues, and assisting with various special projects as assigned, including receiving, inventory, and purchase orders. They will also be responsible for the hotel's cash bank and will report to the Area Director of Finance.

Property Details: Hyatt Regency Baytown is a catalyst for Baytown's waterfront district development, located at the base of the iconic Fred Hartman Bridge along the Houston Ship Channel. The Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston will undoubtedly provide the ultimate gateway entrance to the city of Baytown, a coastal city known for its rich Texas history. Baytown is just minutes from downtown Houston and Galveston, and close to the Kemah Boardwalk and NASA Space Center. The hotel features 208 guest rooms, a market, a 3-meal restaurant with exposition kitchen, and a lobby bar with great views of the Houston ship channel. Our Houston-area hotel is the first waterfront hotel in the area that will also feature 18,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, including a 12,000 sq. ft. ballroom with 20-ft. high ceilings, a smaller junior ballroom, and waterfront event space. Leisure amenities include an outdoor pool and fitness center.

Qualifications

Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting system use (Oracle Preferred).
Two years accounting experience.
