Fund Accountant

IQEQ(https://iqeq.com/) is seeking a full-time Private Equity & Hedge Fund Accountant to join our team and be a dedicated resource for HarbourView Equity Partners.

This role is a full-time, salaried position located in HarbourView's Headquarters at 110 Edison Place in Newark, NJ office 3 days each week.

The Role

Review quarterly estimates, final fund net asset values (NAVs), investor statements, and internal reporting. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and review capital calls and distributions allocations
Calculate management fees, distributions, waterfall allocations, and IRR
Contribute to the financial statement preparation process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Create financial models, provide ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects.
Prepare/review fund and management company financial statements, capital calls, distribution allocations, fund forecasts, performance estimates, and attributions.
Adhere to accounting best practices, research accounting principles/issues, and ensure compliance.
Assist in review of investor statements and internal reporting
Coordinate with external auditors for the year-end audit process
Monitor and record fund expenses, including management fees, legal fees, audit fees, and other operational costs.
Participate in strategic working groups within the organization to improve processes and our operating model.

Your Qualifications

Willingness to work on-site in Newark, NJ three days every week
3+ years of experience in the alternative Investment Management industry (Hedge Fund, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate)
In-depth understanding of investment management and alternative products
Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and competently driving solutions
Excellent knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and QuickBooks
CPA is a big plus
Degree in Accounting
Public Accounting experience
