Job Summary

Lexington, SC based site construction company is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk.

Candidate will be responsible for the financial, administrative, and clerical support of the company. They are in charge of making payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, paying vendor invoices or bills, and recording the company’s short-term debts and payroll. A construction background or similar experience is preferred.

DUTIES

Receiving and recording the receipt of invoices
Processing invoices to ensure payments are correct and on time
Requesting receipt of statements from invoicing contractors or businesses when they are not provided
Matching and filing invoices and receipts
Reconciling business accounts to ensure amounts paid reflect goods and services received
Answering queries from suppliers, contractors, and other business departments about accounts payable or payments made
Distributing invoice copies to finance staff and other relevant departments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Employees in the position of Accounts Payable Clerk should have experience with:

The principles and practices of data entry accounting concepts and procedures
Clerical accounting methods, forms, and techniques
Mathematical functions related to accounting processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Gathering and compiling data into spreadsheets or databases
Financial research and report preparation methods and techniques
Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
Ability to create formulas and macros
Strong mathematical capabilities
Ability to develop spreadsheets and report formats
Detail-oriented
Ability to type with accuracy
