Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Account Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting processes. This position requires a strong understanding of municipal accounting principles and the ability to work with various financial software systems. The Account Clerk will be responsible for managing journal entries, payroll, filing appropriate tax returns, account reconciliations, and supporting Town accounting functions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
Utilize financial software, including Williamson Law Book, for efficient data management.
Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Support the municipal accounting team in various tasks as needed.
Apply double entry bookkeeping principles to maintain accurate records.
Analyze financial concepts to provide insights into accounting processes.

Skills

Proficiency in technical accounting practices and principles.
Experience with journal entries and account reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with financial software, particularly Williamson.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting functions.
Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping techniques.
Ability to grasp complex financial concepts quickly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
