Position Summary:

The Investor Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of Selene’s compliance with investor, agency, regulatory (RegAB & USAP) requirements for the loan accounting and reconciliation related investor accounts. Establish team goals and objectives, and delegate as appropriate. Ensure GAAP, company finance policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are adhered to and met. Position requires strong communication and leadership skills that can develop and maintain high-performance teams. A motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. The manager will ensure performance standards are maintained, while providing consistent coaching feedback to staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure all loan accounting functions are performed in compliance with company, investor and/or regulatory guidelines.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of assigned monthly reconciliations of various accounts such as PI & TI custodial accounts for investors which could include FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, Private MBS or Special Servicing.
Manage the set up and operations of the loan accounting aspects of advance facility requirements and stipulations.
Supervise and account for advances recoverable to/from investors.
Perform deal settlement transaction reconciliations and recovery of associated payments.
Oversight of investor remittances and reports along with related cash movements and accounting entries in accordance with agreements.
Research, reconcile, and provide timely resolution to all investor issues and reporting exceptions.
Continuously reviews processes and procedures and aggressively recommends new ones to management and other departments within the company to improve the quality.
Ensures strict adherence to the Agency and Private Investor Servicing Agreements, Regulation AB, USAP and other guidelines for timely and accurate reporting, remitting, and reconciling.
Collaborate on technology planning efforts aimed at streamlining business processes, improving efficiency and performance.
Direct staff on execution of senior management defined department goals.
Provide bank reconciliation KPI productivity reporting to senior management.
Create and maintain policy and procedures documents for the department.
Routinely keeps abreast of latest relevant loan accounting requirement changes.
Ensure that proper internal controls exist and are applied consistently to prevent potential fraud and misallocation of funds.
Develop, evaluate, and monitor compliance with controls and policy/procedures for area of responsibility.
Oversee intra-quality control initiatives and remediate any findings, as appropriate.
Execute on audit exams both with internal and external business partners.
Build relationships with internal departments interfacing with assigned custodial accounts.
Maintain knowledge of and adherence to Selene’s internal compliance policies and procedures.
Provide leadership to department and ensure performance standards are maintained, while providing consistent coaching and feedback.
Identify skills required for each direct report and develop those skillsets.
Evaluate staffing needs and make organizational change recommendations, where appropriate.
Deliver salary recommendations for department, as applicable.
Execute on other duties, as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
4-10 years related experience in a mortgage loan servicing management assignment with progressive leadership responsibilities.
Specific management experience in bank reconciliation – with emphasis on investor P&I, T&I custodial account is preferred.
Demonstrated track record of building successful teams and delivering expected results.
Requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to influence and drive results.
Strong leadership and people management skills solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment.
Outstanding attention to detail is required.
Ability to thrive in high pressure, ambiguous, short turnaround time environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior analytical and research skills.
Proficient skills utilizing MS Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.).
Ability to effectively partner with various departments, management, and vendor liaisons.
