Job Overview

The Staff Accountant is a key member of our Accounting team, responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; preparing and analyzing budgets; and performing general bookkeeping. This role is critical in providing financial support to various departments and will assist with financial planning and budget management functions.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and conduct general ledger operations.
Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
Draw up monthly financial reports.
Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
Assist with year-end closings.
Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Prepare tax computations and returns.
Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Assist with payroll administration.
Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences.
Account/bank reconciliations.
Review and process expense reports.
Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.
Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Hands-on experience with accounting software like Netsuite.
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
Experience with general ledger functions.
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
