Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) of Bend, Oregon, the largest pediatric practice in the region, is hiring a full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse Team Lead. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:00pm.

At COPA, the Pediatric Registered Nurse Team Lead plays an integral role serving patients at our friendly and welcoming medical clinic for children of all ages. The RN Team Lead is responsible for performing the core duties of a Registered Nurse, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, and adolescent patients, in accordance with the standards of care set by the practice. In addition to clinical duties, the RN Team Lead demonstrates leadership within the Clinical Operations team by actively participating in team lead meetings, precepting new hires, managing vaccine inventory, and consistently setting a positive example. The RN Team Lead works 5 days per week at their assigned clinical location, ensuring excellence in patient care and team collaboration.

The role of the Pediatric Registered Nurse Team Lead will include but is not limited to the following duties:

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques and demonstrates knowledge in accordance with COPA policies and procedures within pertinent laws and regulations in the following areas:
Conducts individualized patient assessments, prioritizing the data collection based on the infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent patients’ immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by practice’s policies, procedures, or protocols.
Effectively plans, organizes, and prioritizes nursing care.
Performs treatments accurately and in a timely manner, as ordered by the physician.
Accurately forecasts and administers pediatric immunizations.
Demonstrates efficiency and proficiency with the EHR system.
Provides thorough, concise, and timely documentation in the patient’s medical record regarding the care rendered and the patient’s response.
Is self-motivated and able to make independent decisions while supporting the practice’s philosophy and values.
Performs RN appointments independently within scope of practice, using sound clinical decision-making.
Provides individualized education to patients and families.
Assists in monitoring, procuring, and managing inventory of supplies and equipment.
Maintains current clinical skills, staying informed on equipment, trends, and practices in nursing.
Assists in the orientation of new personnel.
Performs additional related duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.
Delivers patient care during scheduled shift hours.

Team Lead Responsibilities:

Demonstrates leadership within the team, facilitating and promoting changes within the organization.
Holds team members accountable to COPA policies and values.
Manages vaccine inventory and oversight for each clinic, including ordering, reconciliation, and emergency management.
Oversees medical supply and inventory management at each clinic.
Provides On-Call support to the Clinical Operations Team and vaccine alarm coverage during assigned shifts for SBC, RDM, NWX, and EBC vaccine fridges.
Assists with department complaints.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills in difficult situations as they arise.
May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Certification:

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program.
Required: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon and license must be in good standing; BSN preferred.
Required: Oregon licensure as required for education.
Current CPR for Healthcare Provider required.

Experience:

Minimum of three years pediatric nursing experience required, and telephone triage preferred.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population; superior nursing process skills; strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to make independent nursing judgments and prioritize workload; knowledge of community services; ability to multi-task and work independently.
Epic EMR experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasion up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Working Conditions:

Work inside in a general medical office setting with ergonomically configured equipment.
The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors. The employee has been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore are included in the OSHA Exposure Control Plan with specification for preventing contact with the above materials.
Travel between COPA clinics, business office and community partners as required.
