Job Summary and Qualifications

Blood Bank Lead Technologist

The Core Lab Lead Technologist collects and prepares specimens and performs laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Verifies, records, and reports lab results in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and laboratory procedures.

What you will do in this role:

You will serve as Lead Tech for the appropriate lab section.
You will have primary responsibility for instrument operation and maintenance, quality control, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
You will handle specimen processing, pre-analytic inspection of specimens for identification and integrity.
You will perform various types of laboratory test(s) on patient specimens and report/enter/verify test results.
You will evaluate new and/or modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as directed by Section Coordinator.
You will communicate laboratory test knowledge and test results in a professional manner.

What qualifications you will need:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree; Graduate from a NCCLS accredited Medical Technologist program.
5 years clinical experience required.
