Registered Environmental Health Specialist

The City of Rahway, Department of Health is recruiting a Full-Time Registered Environmental Health Specialist with a minimum of one (1) year experience in performing food establishment inspections, public health nuisance complaint investigations, recreational bathing and youth camp inspections. Grant related job duties will be assigned. Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor License, Community Noise Enforcement Certification, Body Art Establishment inspections and Septic experience a plus. Proficient in writing reports and Notice of Violations, possesses organizational and communication skills, understands and able to review establishment plans, and the ability to interact with establishment operators and public along with other duties outlined in and not limited to the Civil Service Commission job description (https://info.csc.state.nj.us/jobspec/03097.htm).

REQUIRED: Active New Jersey Registered Environmental Health Specialist License (REHS) and valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

Pre-employment driver abstract, drug screen and background checks are performed.
