The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Richmond Hospital invites applications for a full time permanent position as a General Pathologist. Start Date 2024 (flexible). Fellowship training and/or related work experience (ideally at least 5 yrs) is not required but would be an asset.

The successful candidate will join the department of 5 Pathologists providing general pathology work including anatomical and clinical pathology services for both inpatient and outpatient in Richmond Community of Care. The work environment is a fast-paced high volume lab with about 20,000 Anatomical Pathology specimens and 1.5M Clinical Pathology tests per year with rapid annual growth.

Richmond hospital is a community academic teaching hospital. Applicants must have an interest or additional training in research and/or medical education. The hospital is over 225 beds, sees over 50,000 emergency room patients per year and runs seven acute operating rooms daily as well as a minor procedure room, a busy rehab clinic and an ambulatory procedure centre. The medical community is collegial and supportive with excellent relationships between departments as well as between community family physicians and specialists.

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License – FULL
Canadian Medical Protective Association – Mandatory
Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – CERTIFIED
