EMPLOYER INFORMATION: Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families. Our mission is to provide integrated services addressing mental, physical, and social determinants of health in order to improve health, resiliency, and quality of life for children, families, and communities.

PURPOSE: This position supports the implementation of medical policies for the entire organization as well as ensures the delivery of quality patient care. This role will report to the COO & General Counsel and is part of the Senior Leadership Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates and/or leads committees and work groups to set and enforce clinical standards agency-wide.
Responsible for signing and/or appropriately delegating the signing of treatment plans.
Participates in administrative and clinical meetings as requested by supervisor.
Leads and participates in new clinical service design, development, and implementation.
Responds to crisis situations as senior leadership in a timely fashion.
Follows The Joint Commission standards such as Peer to Peer review of psychiatrists.
Supervise the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellows and medical students.
Works collaboratively throughout the organization to ensure the adoption of standards and policies for all functional aspects of clinical services that result in patient care improvements.
Evaluates and provides comprehensive treatment for psychiatric disorders.
Monitors effectiveness of prescribed treatment modalities.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members related to behavioral and physical health.
Provides appropriate consultation to other (sub) specialty practitioners.
Maintains up-to-date clinical records.
Submits requested agency and state data and reports, following required standards/protocols and timelines.
Adheres to rules and regulations as required by TJC and other regulatory agencies.
Stays up-to-date of new developments in the psychiatric treatment of children and adults.
Leverages telehealth technologies as appropriate.
Provides in-service training as needed.
Performs other duties as directed.
Maintains a client case load as agreed to by supervisor.

EDUCATION:

Board Certified or eligible in child & adolescent psychiatry.
Hold and maintain an unrestricted license to practice in CT.

A proven ability to build and maintain relationships between other providers to ensure the optimal health of the patient.
A proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to clearly convey information through a variety of channels to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
Ability to delegate decision-making authority and/or task responsibility to (appropriate) other staff to maximize the organization's and individuals' effectiveness.

REQUIREMENTS:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

TRAVEL:

This role may require travel throughout the State of Connecticut.
