Job Title: Business Analyst

Work Location: Newark, New Jersey (Hybrid work schedule)

Duties

We are seeking a Business Analyst for our client in Newark, New Jersey. In this role, working within the utility and energy industry, you will perform monthly Purchase Card Audits, conduct monthly Fleet Exception Reporting, and aid in new system upgrades. Additional duties include:

Perform Quarterly Accruals for the Utility using Audit Sampling
Update guidance link documents
Gather and link data from diverse sources in order to perform analyses, identify trends and correlations, develop and track metrics, identify performance gaps, deliver actionable information and present opportunities for improvement within 3rd party damages.
Support the Business Improvement Team through the assessment, analysis, development and implementation of program related data and material.
Develop a method for storing, tracking data and electronic files (i.e., Microsoft SharePoint, network drives, etc.), and design with recommendations for consolidation, security, efficiency, and usability improvements.
Design, develop, and deliver standardized databases, forms, queries and reports for capturing, organizing, tracking, retrieving, assembling, and disseminating data and metrics.
Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, presentations, documents, Tableau data visualization files, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or related field
Minimum of 5 years relevant professional work experience: 5 to 7 years of business analysis/professional experience working with large data sets
Ability to support thoughtful decisions by gathering, transforming and analyzing data to develop and document conclusions and/or recommendations.
Proficiency with MS Office products (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Past usage of SAP (especially FICO) is helpful
Detail oriented, driven and able to effectively work independently
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across department boundaries

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. (Occasional travel to Company locations may be required)
Track record of managing complex multi-disciplined projects
Experience working in a Utility or Energy field
Process improvement experience - Lean Six Sigma green belt or above
Conceptual knowledge of accounting and/or auditing standards
Listed salary ranges may vary based on experience, qualifications, and local market. Also, some positions may include bonuses or other incentives.
