JM&A accounting team is hiring a Sr. Accounting Analyst!

Responsibilities

Participate in the month end close process which includes preparation of month end journal entries, account reconciliations, special reporting and researching any unusual items.
Prepares daily balancing reconciliations for claim payments and other income items.
Responsible for the Annual and Quarterly Premium Tax filings by state.
Responsible for all State fees, assessments, etc.
Responsible for initiating the process and recording monthly wires and check requests for our department.
Assist the Model Audit Rule team with control testing when needed.
Participate in annual PWC or internal audits, including preparing/providing account information and answering auditors' questions.
Prepare ad hoc requests and participate in special projects.
Responsible for development and implementation to improve processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA a plus.
Minimum 5-7 years professional accounting experience preferred.
Must possess a thorough understanding of accounting with the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory reporting requirements (as needed).
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented; must have strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
Strict attention to detail with strong organization, time management and follow-up skills.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and must be able to research and follow-up timely on pending items.
High degree of accuracy is required and ability to multi-task to meet strict deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Suite of Products (i.e. Excel, Word, Sharepoint). High level of proficiency in utilizing Excel.
Ability to be flexible/adaptable to changing priorities in order to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Premium Pro, recommended.
Proficiency in Blackline, NetSuite, Essbase, a plus.
Power Query, Power Automate a plus.
