Salary Range: $33.50 – $34.50 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wellness Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of Wellness department operations. The Wellness Manager ensures accurate and efficient selection, ordering, receiving, preparation, and merchandising of product and consistently phenomenal customer service. This position upholds management best practices, develops and mentors department personnel, adheres to labor guidelines, and ensures others maintain compliance with policy and procedures by establishing clear expectations in a manner that upholds the values of Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and the cooperative identity.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Store Manager

SUPERVISES: Assistant Wellness Managers, Wellness Clerks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold all Co-op policies, procedures and expectations.
Customer Experience: Ensure the department operates effectively and efficiently; facilitate day-to-day operation and guarantee performance standards are met. Exceed customer expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment for diverse backgrounds.
Department Operations: Develop and maintain ordering procedures, product displays, promotions, and merchandising in adherence with the Co-op’s merchandising policy.
Managerial Duties: Create, develop, communicate, implement, audit, and evaluate operating standards and procedures and make adjustments as needed.
Financial Accountability: Collaborate with Directors to establish annual department budgets and monitor compliance.
Other Duties: Assist in inventory counts, storewide cleaning, and other projects as needed.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Work Experience:

5+ years previous experience in customer service. 3+ years previous experience purchasing, handling, and/or merchandising products.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent Physical Demands: Stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time. Lift and move up to 30 pounds.

Occasional Physical Demands: Lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Availability: Evening and weekend availability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequent Exposure: Hand washing and wearing disposable gloves. Work with various cleaning products including bleach.

Occasional Exposure: Fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and wet or humid conditions.
