Medical Technologist (MT) Featured Job - Internal Only

Job Summary:

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Perform specimen analysis following established procedures to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results.
Collect and analyze blood and its morphology using hematologic and microscopic techniques and perform various coagulation analyses.
Conduct examination of urine and other body fluids to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components.
Perform blood group, type, and compatibility testing for transfusion purposes.
Perform and operate a variety of microbiological and bacteriological procedures to examine and identify bacteria and other microorganisms.
Prepare and process blood specimens and other body fluids for chemical, immunologic, and serologic testing.
Verify, release, and record findings through the laboratory information system and report critical values to physicians.
Perform proficiency testing.
Perform and document equipment and machine maintenance, calibration, quality control, and other troubleshooting methods.
Maintain patient confidentiality regarding their diagnostic tests and comply with legal rules, regulations, and procedures of the laboratory.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Public Health and 2 years of experience. Requires American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification.
