Description & Requirements
Maximus is seeking an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux Senior Engineer to join our team. As a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the RHEL infrastructure. Your role will involve overseeing system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the RHEL environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain the RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
Work on RHEL 7.x/8.x and perform system administration, which includes installation, configuration, and maintenance
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Perform system backups and recovery processes to ensure high availability and data protection.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements and enhance the RHEL server environment.
Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior administrators, fostering their professional growth.
Perform vulnerability scans using common scanning tools such as Tenable, Hp WebInspect, and others
Investigate security breaches, risks, and attacks; create mitigation plans and implement both proactive and retrospective solutions

Requirements:
Due to federal requirements, only US Citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered An active Security clearance is required.
Must be based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
This individual will be responsible for the daily operation of mission critical systems on a 24x7x365 workday basis. Shift work will be required
7 or more years of experience in a RHEL Senior Engineer role or in a related field
7 or more years of experience in the following:
o RHEL 6.x/7.x

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
