This is a 40-hour social work position following patients with Brain Tumors. Social work provides social work support to patients and families with a high incidence of economic need, and social and medical complexity who are receiving ongoing oncological care or who have recently received a new diagnosis.
This Brain Tumor Social Worker will be responsible for:
- Providing services that include a comprehensive psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, coordination of care, linkages to community services, and psycho-education
- Management of family issues including child protection and domestic violence, as well as ongoing grief and loss support
- Working closely with the entire inpatient and outpatient teams at BCH, along with outpatient services providers at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and may provide one on one support to patient and or caregiver, as well a group work
To qualify, you must have:
- A Master's degree in Social Work, LCSW required, LICSW is preferred
- Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities
- Social work experience within a medical environment, preferred
- Spanish language skills a plus
