Job Description: The Process Improvement Intern applies engineering skills and knowledge to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Essentia Health processes. The intern works closely with experienced professionals to identify areas for improvement, analyze data, and implement innovative solutions to optimize patient care delivery.
Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities within the Essentia Health organization
- Utilizes engineering principles and methodologies to design and implement process improvement initiatives
- Conducts data analysis and gathers relevant information to understand current processes and identify areas for optimization
- Collaborates with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and challenges and provide innovative solutions
- Assists in the implementation of process improvement projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develops and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to document process changes
Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree at Iron Range Engineering (IRE) and in the Co-Op phase of the program
Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify improvement opportunities
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
