What's the role? Create an environment that inspires others by blending a thorough knowledge of security processes and technology with company values to take appropriate actions that promote and maintain safety and security for all of our people and facilities. Staff a security desk post, patrol the campus, and provide security at Company dedicated events.
What you'll get to do: - Provide security related services to the Northwestern Mutual workforce, field and visitors in a way that demonstrates customer service, understanding, tact, confidentiality, and integrity.
- At the security desk, monitor video, access control, visitor management platform, radio, telephone and associated items to successfully fulfill position requirements.
- Audit security processes in partnership with the security control center.
- Support onsite special events in partnership with our Corporate Security & Special Events team.
- Assist in the response coordination to emergency incidents using security technology and two-way radios, handle incoming/outgoing telephonic and electronic communication, process ID cards, and document activities using a variety of methods.
- Use an engagement model of behavior and make proactive observations of potential risks to ensure a safe and secure campus experience for our workforce and visitors. Serve as a first responder to emergency incidents.
- Using standard practices and good judgment, identify and respond to urgent situations to maintain safety for people and property.
- Use solid critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills to resolve issues effectively.
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes and services to develop your career and advance the team's capabilities.

- Minimum of two years' experience in a corporate or professional environment that includes performance under demanding conditions.
- Excellent customer service in a professional environment.
- Experience using video management and access control systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
- Able to work weekends and some holidays as part of the work schedule.
- Associate degree or 60 credits of post-secondary education from an accredited institution preferred.
- Current certification in Frist Aid/CPR/AED and bloodborne pathogen training preferred. Must be certified within the first 6 months of employment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
