Junior Accountant will assume responsibilities of assisting staff accountants in reporting and analysis of Monthly Revenue and Receivables. Performs entry level accounting activities related to preparing, analyzing and maintaining various financial statements, records and reports in support of the financial operations of the organization. Prepares journal entries, income and balance sheet statements, account reconciliations, cost and related reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in month-end close journal entries.
- Medicaid Cash
- Additional inpatient contractual allowances
- Reserve for denials, bad debt, and charity
- Other reserves as needed
Assist in preparing revenue and accounts receivable analysis:
- Determine if inpatient revenue is consistent with volume, casemix, and payor mix
- AR Reconciliations to EPIC/Eagle and to HSR Report
Assist with entries to account for Medicare PIP:
- Track level of advances and applications
- Account for PIP activity by year
- Separate PIP and non-PIP activity
Participate in Cost Report preparation and assist with other reimbursement related tasks, as necessary.
