SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under general supervision, performs all activities related to the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions within the incumbents areas of responsibility (assigned functional area as well as business unit/division). Responsible for all accounting related reconciliations and preparation and analysis of financial statements. The Accounting Manager is a highly detail-oriented individual with 5 years of finance and accounting experience.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures compliance with companywide policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Accurate and timely compilation, completion, and distribution of company financial statements.
- Hands-on reconciliation of any and all related general ledger and sub ledger accounts under his/her area(s) of responsibility.
- Manages the fixed asset software system and ensures accurate tracking and reporting of fixed assets.
- Handles all audit workpapers and processes for the company. Prepares the annual budget for the company and outlines important budgeting schedules.
- Calculates/enters/posts monthly journal entries as required.
- Monitors and reconciles intercompany general ledger transactions and balances.
- Provides assistance and support to others in the Finance & Accounting department to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing in the various subledgers of the accounting software (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc.).
- Coordinates and/or completes all external reporting requirements (e.g., Personal Property Tax Statements, USDA reporting, etc.).
- Maintains employee and management confidence by protecting any and all sensitive financial and non-financial information with a keen sense of confidentiality.
- Contributes to team effort and success by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs such other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field combined with experience preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- ERP systems experience including the analyzing and reconciliation of transactions flow and integration of modules to the General Ledger (AR, AP, Inventory, etc.).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in order to resolve issues and/or improve processes.
- Communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
