Description
Position Summary:
The US Controller, Non-SAP (NetSuite) will lead the team responsible for all accounting activities related to Non-SAP entities, reporting to the Sr. Director, Accounting. This is a highly visible position that will own reporting to our international parent company for Non-SAP entities, as well as be responsible for monitoring and preparing internal management reporting for senior North American leadership. On a day-to-day basis, this position leads the accounting function for multiple smaller subsidiaries, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and all other areas of the balance sheet. This role will own month end, quarter end, and year end reporting for all Non-SAP entities, with a focus on accurate and timely financial statement preparation and will take the lead in internal and external audits related to these entities. Additionally, this role will have some budget responsibility, providing tracking and support to subsidiary leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple subsidiaries, including month-end close processes, general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and financial reporting for Non-SAP entities.
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop Non-SAP accounting team.
- Develop, support, and maintain functioning internal controls.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis for assigned entities.
- Assist in coordinating the annual and related mid-year audit process for assigned entities.
- Be responsible for and assist subsidiary leaders in annual budgeting process.
- Identify pain points of accounting processes and make recommendations/enhancement ideas.
- Assist in the maintenance of the accounting system and General Ledger structure and accounts in NetSuite.
- Review and post journal entries.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, work on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 6+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting. A background in public audit/technical accounting advisory preferred.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience required.
- 3+ years working in NetSuite required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Experience in a large, multi-national company accounting team preferred.
- Industry experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
- Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
