At Extra Space Storage, the Product Analyst role is crucial in driving the success of our products by ensuring alignment between customer needs, business goals, and development efforts. As a key contributor, you'll directly impact how our products meet market demands and deliver value to users.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Product Managers: Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers to translate product vision and strategy into actionable epics and user stories, ensuring alignment with the overall roadmap.
Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly meet with stakeholders to capture requirements, provide feedback on work-in-progress, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Requirements Refinement: Define and refine epics and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria, ensuring they are clear, actionable, and aligned with strategic goals. Continuously iterate on these requirements to reflect evolving business needs and priorities.
Backlog Management: Strategically manage the backlog to ensure that sprint work is prioritized in alignment with goals and the product strategy/vision. Maximize value by ensuring the development team focuses on the most impactful work.
Support Agile Teams: Participate in sprint planning, stand ups, refinement sessions, demos, reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of requirements and deliverables.
Customer-Centric Approach: Act as the voice of the customer within the team, ensuring that dev work targets user needs, pain points, and opportunities.
Data-Driven Decisions: Stay connected to data that tells the story of the product. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the success of product features and make informed decisions to optimize outcomes.
Quality Assurance and Release Management: Partner with development and QA to ensure that all features meet quality standards and align with defined requirements before release. Oversee the release process to guarantee a clean and successful rollout to customers, including coordinating with cross-functional teams to manage deployment, monitor post-release performance, and address any issues promptly.

Technical Acumen: A passion for technology with a solid understanding of key concepts such as front-end and back-end development, APIs, databases, and the overall software development lifecycle. This role requires someone who can seamlessly integrate technical knowledge into product development to ensure that solutions are both innovative and technically sound.
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Experience:
2-4 years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a related role.
Experience with agile methodologies and working in scrum teams is a plus.
Experience with Jira, confluence, or other SDL tools.
Experience with SQL, Power BI or other data analysis tools is a plus.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work in an office environment with limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required. Close visual acuity required to perform work at computer terminal. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping and feeling.
