POSITION SUMMARY: Manage aid room and provide patient care to OEC standards of care for guests and employees at resort.
Applicants need to be 18 years or older and hold an RN license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide care and comfort to injured guests and employees. This care is primarily provided in the Ski Patrol Aid Room; however, occasionally it may be necessary to respond to emergencies elsewhere in the base area or on the mountain. May also assist with advance life support therapies under direction of physician. Also assists with transportation and information needs to family and others accompanying patients to hospital or home.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain accurate and complete incident reports, as well as coordination of physician statements of treatments and referrals. While on duty must be available by radio when away from the aid room.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: First aid skills including assessment, bandaging, splinting
EXPERIENCE: Prior National Ski Patrol experience preferred
LICENSE NEEDED: RN license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Up to 25 lbs frequently, 100 lbs occasionally and extended periods on feet
MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Standard Emergency Department equipment, such as defibrillator, suction, etc. Also, occasional snowmobile use, if trained
JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: HIGH complexity
REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once a season.
