Working under the supervision of a psychiatrist, provide high-quality patient care to a diverse University community in accordance with established standards and medical ethics, and with policies and procedures of the Student Health Center. Provide high-quality direct patient care in accordance with established standards (i.e., current medical and nursing protocols authorized by NY State). Meet students for drop-in or walk-in sessions. Assess their problems, prescribe medications, refer for ongoing treatment as indicated. Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough counseling records.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and NYS Nurse Practitioner license in appropriate specialty with prescription privileges.
Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Nursing.
Required Experience:
4 years relevant experience in an ambulatory setting including 2 years as Nurse Practitioner or an equivalent combination.
Preferred Experience:
Outpatient experience in counseling and prescribing with a student or young adult population.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Must have CPR certification.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Willingness and ability to meet flexible work schedule.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $116,000 to USD $136,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
