POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Manager of Outpatient Imaging Services, the Supervisor, Mammography Technologist oversees the daily, technical, logistical, and clinical functions of Mammography services at both the Cameron Park and Hospital locations. They also participate in mammographic imaging and mammography procedures, including wire localizations and stereotactic biopsies, as well as Radiography and DXA.
This position is responsible for the annual Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) Certification process, ACR Certification, and coordinates and administers the Mammography Outcomes program.
The Supervisor, Mammography Technologist utilizes his/her expertise as an application expert and clinical expert to provide ongoing technical and clinical support, training, and QC testing of Mammography equipment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Must hold current California Radiological Technologists (CRT) licensure in Radiological Technology and Mammography.
- American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) licensure strongly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Education (CE) requirements must be current.
- CA Fluoroscopy license required.
- A.S. degree or Completion Certificate from a Radiological Technology Program required.
- Clinical supervisory experience highly preferred.
- *Certain Mammography/Radiology Techs must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
Knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing mammography required.
- Must complete one-hundred mammography exams yearly, minimum. Previous experience performing DEXA scans preferred.
- Experience in Mammography processes, regulations, follow-up requirements, and procedures required.
- Knowledge of American College of Radiology (ACR) and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations required.
- Demonstrated literacy with computers.
Skills:
- High standard work ethic.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have expertise in mammography techniques and positioning and competency in dealing with mammography patients.
- Must have experience with Mammography Outcomes Management.
- Knowledge of issues in women’s healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to work and remain calm under stressful conditions.
*Note: Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period. Candidates must possess and supply proof of: a current CA Driver’s License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
