We utilize a team-based model including embedded Behavioral Health Clinicians as well as Case Managers, Care Coordinators and Community Health Workers.
The Manager of Behavioral Health is responsible for the delivery and oversight of Behavioral Health services in Amoskeag Health’s four clinics. The Manager works to support a team-based, integrated Patient Centered Medical Home model of care as outlined by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). Through the implementation of evidence-based treatment practices, mission-driven goal setting, personal and team accountability, the Manager leads the delivery of high-quality behavioral health and social services in our diverse and vibrant Federally Qualified Health Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Training: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling, Psychology or related field from an accredited graduate school.
- Licensure: New Hampshire LICSW, LMHC or other behavioral health license required for clinical supervision of staff and interns. Approved, or eligible for approval by the State of New Hampshire’s Board of Mental Health Practice as a clinical supervisor.
- Experience: Three years of experience in behavioral healthcare or social services field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Experience within an integrated primary care-behavioral health or PCMH setting is highly valued.
- Knowledge of behavioral health billing and coding, managed care principles, and third-party payer guidelines is essential.
- Verifiable good driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to maintain a non-judgmental disposition and communicate with a diverse patient and staff population; a desire and ability to work closely with a low-income population; An awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population employed and served by Amoskeag Health.
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $73,819 - $109,865 per year. At the time of an offer, determination of your rate will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Attracts, develops, evaluates, and retains a diverse group of high-performing team members that provide high-quality behavioral health services and contribute to the advancement of the mission of Amoskeag Health.
- Develops and manages a behavioral health program that provides behavioral health interventions to patients served by Amoskeag Health. Supervises a team of Master’s level Behavioral Health Consultants working as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team providing brief interventions, care coordination, and follow-up behavioral health care.
- Ensures the service delivery and adherence to all the components of the treatment service model are consistent with evidence-based, trauma informed, and therapeutic best practices.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment delivery process to assure the program goals and objectives, direct service expectations, patient needs, and compliance with all applicable quality standards and licensure requirements, codes, and regulations are being met. Develops corrective action plans for missed goals and targets.
- Participates as a multi-disciplinary team member in developing and implementing assessments, treatment plans, strategies, and models of care that will maximize therapeutic effectiveness. Implements patient registries for effective tracking and analysis of treatment.
- Gathers and analyzes data necessary to report on individual staff performance, and program goals and objectives.
- Assists in the development of behavioral health policies and procedures.
- Supports the development or expansion of new programs as required, which may include participating in the writing or management of components of new or existing grants.
- Manages and reports on grants related to area of responsibility.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Revenue Integrity to maximize available revenue streams through billing of services and/or improved documentation. Assures staff compliance with documentation, billing, and coding standards and policies.
- Ensures that clinical supervision is received by all Behavioral Health, SUD, and Social Service staff appropriate to the individual’s level of education, expertise, and years of practice in a primary care-behavioral health integrated setting.
- Assists Director with fiscal management of the department, including the preparation and review of departmental budgets, monitoring of direct service productivity goals and utilization, and standardization of documentation, coding, and billing practices.
- Participates in case conferences and other Amoskeag Health committee meetings as assigned. If absent, responsible for reading minutes of meetings and signing the documentation.
- Attends seminars and educational programs necessary to gain knowledge and training in selected areas.
- Represents Amoskeag Health on selected community coalitions and meetings. Develops and cultivates positive relations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively supports organizational initiatives, objectives and strategic plan and supports the advancement of Amoskeag Health’s strategic goals within area of responsibility.
- Remains current on and adherent to all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements and ensures compliance of direct reports with the same.
- Assists with activities during audit and accreditation reviews as necessary. Assures staff compliance with organization’s obligations under HIPAA, HRSA, DHHS, Medicaid and other state and federal entities.
- Performs administrative duties as assigned and appropriate to the functioning of the department.
