As the Director of Rehabiliation Services, you will provide leadership and management for the Center for Rehabilitation at Wilmington Hospital (CRWH) . You will ensure that Rehabilitation Services is operated efficiently and effectively and is responsive to the needs of patients/families, referral sources, physicians, and the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day for Rehabilitation Services to support CRWH outcomes
- Manage the activities of assigned employees. Assess competency of staff. Assume responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, transfers, promotions, terminations, salary adjustments, hiring and training of new employees.
- Responsible for services achieving the highest operating effectiveness and efficiency as measured by internal and external outcomes and benchmarking reports
- Ensure that patients/families receive the highest quality and most effective services available in the community
- Lead efforts to improve the quality of the program through an ongoing, effective performance improvement plan
- Oversee financial and administrative issues
- Ensure compliance with established productivity guidelines. Maintain other productivity monitoring systems.
- In collaboration with the Vice President, manage annual capital and operating budget; and analyze expenses, revenue, and clinician productivity based on monthly reports
- Partner closely with Rehabilitation Services and CRWH leaders to ensure consistent, effective, efficient, and high-quality services and care
- Monitor expenses, administer policies relating to purchasing and accounts payable and collaborate on finance and billing issues
- Support new strategic opportunities for business unit. Participate in the development of business plans and proformas for new ventures.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, as assigned.
- Operate various sites of service in an ethical manner in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ensures conformance with Joint Commission, Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Services (CARF) or other accrediting body standards that the organization sees fit to maintain
- Maintain standards to meet all requirements of Joint Commission, CARF and other inspection and/or regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for and oversee accrediting body surveys such as Joint Commission and CARF
- Promote the value of Rehabilitation Services throughout the organization and advocate for services throughout the community
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Audiology or Business or Health Care Administration
- MBA or MHA preferred
- At least five years of health care management experience required
- Strong working knowledge of facility operational and financial issues required
