Position Summary: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for an RN to work in our Cardiopulmonary Department. Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating good rapport with Cardiac Rehabilitation LPN, students, and volunteers when performing supervisory duties.
- Teaching patients and families anatomy and physiology of heart attacks, medication, social habits, exercise philosophy, diet and formulation of short- and long-term goals after discharge.
- D irecting individual patients in graded physical exercise programs according to tolerance level.
- Assisting with inpatient and outpatient exercise groups. Assessing patient's physical and emotional adaptation to disease and reporting concerns in a timely, appropriate manner.
- Presenting in-service programs to other departments and community organizations to familiarize others regarding the prevention of heart disease and rehabilitation of heart patients.
- Con sulting with physicians as to patient progress.
- Assisting physician in determining patient readiness for discharge.
Minimum Qualifications: - Education: Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
- Experience: One year experience in an acute hospital setting, outpatient service or ambulatory surgical setting required.
- Other Requirements: Current Nevada RN license. American Heart Association Certifications required upon hire: BLS and ACLS.
