Shift: Description: GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE: The Lead APP - Assistant of UC Staffing Operations will assist the Urgent Care Manager and Medical Director with creating and maintaining the provider schedule, helping with recruitment and onboarding, and assisting with other items as needed. They will also provide primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in Nursing and graduate of either an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice required or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensed as one of the following:
- An Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) or
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Idaho or Oregon as determined by location of assignment.
-Certification through one of the following:
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or
- American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or
- Current certification as prescribed by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc.
- Current DEA and Idaho Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance license.
- 2 years of experience preferred in a setting appropriate to the assigned practice (family practice, specialty services, urgent care, occupational medicine, etc.).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.
2) Generates a monthly urgent care provider schedule six to eight weeks in advance. After the schedule has been published continues to work with the team on ongoing provider staffing needs. Including working on the schedule to fill gaps, call outs, and provide surge coverage.
3) Adopt, master, and educate the team on new scheduling processes or software.
4) Work with the Urgent Care Manager and Medical Director on ongoing provider staffing needs. Help with interviews and recruitment.
5) Assist the Urgent Care Manager and Medical Director with new grad onboarding and the new grad program, as needed.
6) Provide backup call coverage for the Urgent Care Manager and Medical, as needed.
7) Able and willing to work at all urgent care clinic locations.
8) Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
9) Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
10) Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
11) Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision making and the right to self-determination.
12) Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
13) Demonstrated team, performance analysis, presentation, interpersonal, facilitation, planning, and communication skills required.
