Dietitian II - Culinary & Nutrition Services - F/T Day Shift

Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:
Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, and under general direction, the Dietitian II provides nutrition assessments, diagnosis, intervention, and education to inpatients and outpatients; assists in the development, evaluation, and revision of hospital nutrition policies and procedures; monitors for potential drug nutrient interactions; participates in patient conferences and unit rounds; plans and coordinates the preparation, distribution, and evaluation of staff meals; and plans, organizes, and evaluates the patient, staff, and public food service operations. The Dietitian II performs a full range of Dietitian duties in more specialized areas and prepares and conducts grant research or formal teaching of physicians, students, and other health professionals and the community. Responsibilities may also include participating in significant administrative, research, or resource responsibilities, as well be involved in process improvement and special projects, such as complex nutrition-related projects. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0-21, CCS paneling / approval will be required within 1 year of hire qualified for CCS paneling. Attends discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Non CCS paneled dietitians will be supervised by the CCS paneled dietitian for the care provided to children aged 0-21.
What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications:
- Willingness and availability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed or requested
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare/clinical environment beyond the completion of the American Dietetic Association internship
- Masters degree in foods and nutrition/dietetics with registered dietitian eligibility established on or after January 1, 2024, or Bachelors degree in foods and nutrition/dietetics with registered dietitian eligibility established prior to January 1, 2024
- Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of California
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated understanding of therapeutic and normal nutrition, with the ability to develop care plans for patients
- Demonstrated ability to manage challenges while remaining composed and professional
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Completed American Dietetic Association Internship
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of individuals and stakeholders
- Ability to think critically, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage multiple priorities, and timely completion of tasks
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to engage in research, analysis, synthesizing information, and communicating outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics for registered dietitian eligibility established prior to January 1, 2024
- Demonstrated prior experience teaching and overseeing dietetic interns or other students
