Position Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency dental care which may include extractions, restoration, and endodontic treatment and medications.
• Perform routine dental examinations and prevention, which may include taking X-rays.
• Document patient chief complaint, objective and subjective findings, diagnosis and treatment provided.
• Provide routine dental care services consistent with diagnosis of need and within the scope of approved dental privileges.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and other information as required by applicable laws, HIPAA regulations and policies.
• Knowledge of proper documentation of needed and provided including use of ADA codes.
• Employee is expected to provide care for all patients eligible for care at NTHS. The care provided will be within the range of services available.
• Supervises the functions and staff of the Dental department in the absence of the Chief Dentist.
• Ensures department is maintaining AAAHC accreditations practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
Essential skills and experience:
• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree or Doctor of Medicinal Dentistry (DMD) Degree.
• Must maintain active State License.
• Must maintain active DEA License.
• Two to five years of Dental Experience.
• Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
• Experience supervising a team.
Reporting to this position: Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistants, Dental Registration Clerk in the absence of the Chief Dentist.
