Opening: Physician Specialty: Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgery Position Type: Locum Tenens Facility: Multispecialty Location: Iowa Start Date: November 4 2024 (privileging approx 2 weeks after paperwork received) Length: Ongoing Schedule: 1-2 weeks per month, Monday-Thursday 8a-5p, Friday 8a-4p, call required weeknights and weekends (weekly schedule will adjust) Details: Client is seeking locums coverage for a CVT Surgeon for an ongoing need beginning November 2024, potential for permanent position for the right provider. Board Certified or truly Board Eligible (under 2 years) in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery; must have BLS certification. Candidates that ALREADY possess an ACTIVE Iowa License is HIGHLY preferred due to the timeline. IMLC LOQ in hand a must. Need 1-2 weeks per month of consistent coverage. Call will be required, but the schedule will vary to include weeknights and weekends. Cover M-Th 8a-5p and F 8a-4p; mix of rounding/inpatient/clinic Seeing outpatients as needed, taking call, and doing emergency surgeries. Procedures Required - Cardiac (open heart), thoracic (chest surgery) required. Vascular surgeries preferred but not required. Open Heart Surgeries, TAVR, Endarterectomies preferred but not required, Thoracotomies, Valve Replacement/Repairs, Chest tube placement if needed. 24/7 Hospital - Trauma Level III Patient Population - 100% Adult Average Number of Cases - 3-5 Consults per day, 2-5 Inpatient rounds per day Procedures - 10-20 per month/150-200 per year Support staff - Full hospital surgical support staff Credentials: Board Certified Cardio Thoracic Truly Board Eligible (less than 2 years) Cardio Thoracic.
