NORTHLAKE CARE CENTER is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated and experienced FULL TIME SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST to join our staff!
Current Geriatric experience a must!
The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing for his or her patients and exceeding expectations. As a Speech Language Pathologist you will facilitate the recovery of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive functions for the patients who come through our facility. If you are an accountable and reliable individual who truly cares about the well-being of others, then we would like to meet you!
Responsibilities and Duties of a Speech Language Pathologist:
- Providing monitoring and educational programs to staff
- Conduct reports and maintain proper documentation of information, such as client Medicaid and billing records and caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment
- Creating, administering and organizing individualized plans of treatment for patients
- Inputting the charges for services provided to patients in our computer system
- Instructing clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, lip reading and voice improvement
- Educating patients and family members about various topics such as communication techniques and strategies to cope with or to avoid personal misunderstandings
- Communicating with the dietary department in regards to rehabilitation lunches for patients with swallow dysfunctions
- Participating in workshops and in-service meetings with staff
- Maintaining records and documentation on the patients
Qualifications and Skills of a Speech Language Pathologist:
- MS in Speech Therapy from an accredited speech-language pathology program
- Licensure to practice in the state of Florida
- CPR certified
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
