Cardiovascular Tech / Cardiac Cath Lab Tech / RCIS / RT(R, CV)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our top-ranked hospital located in the scenic town of Huron, Ohio, on the shores of Lake Erie. This full-time position offers a chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment within an established healthcare system that serves four counties. This role involves assisting physicians during cardiovascular procedures, managing technical equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Compensation: $28.00 - $36.33 per hour, depending on experience. On-call pay is $4/hour with 1.5x hourly rate if called in. Includes a $20,000 retention bonus over two years.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Professionally provide highly technical care to cardiovascular patients, assisting physicians during procedures.
- Set up and prepare cardiac cath labs, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, EKG interpretation, sterile techniques, and safety procedures.
- Perform scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring tasks for all Cath Lab procedures.
- Handle documentation of cardiovascular procedures, maintenance of digital imaging, and archival storage of data.
- Respond to emergency situations efficiently, providing crucial post-catheterization information to patients and their families.
- Assist in tracking supplies used for proper billing and inventory control.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to determine and achieve healthcare goals, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of cardiac pharmacology.
- Remove arterial and venous sheaths, deploy closure devices, and maintain a current knowledge of these procedures.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current licensure as RCIS or RT(R, CV) in the State of Ohio.
- Minimum three years of catheterization experience.
- Must attain and maintain current ACLS and BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge and experience in cardiovascular technology.
- Experience in a high-volume cardiac care setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
