The Role:
At Moderna, our mission is to deliver the greatest possible impact to people through mRNA medicines. Our singular focus is on using our mRNA platform and the innovative infrastructure we have built to deliver a new generation of transformative medicines for patients.
Moderna is seeking MBA students to join the Global Supply Chain and Global Quality teams for our Summer 2025 MBA internship program.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
The Supply Chain team is responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of materials and products, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to forecast demand, optimize production, and coordinate logistics. They leverage advanced technologies and data-driven approaches to ensure timely delivery of Moderna's mRNA medicines and drive operational excellence throughout the supply chain.
The Global Quality team is responsible for Moderna’s global quality management system. The quality team works cross-functionally to provide quality oversight and create and maintain standards for compliance to global health authority regulations across the entire product lifecycle in support of Moderna’s activities from R&D, Technical Development, and clinical and commercial internal and external manufacturing and testing and global product distribution to our patients.
Both teams sit within the CMC function, which is responsible for late-stage development, manufacturing, and supply of safe, effective products for both clinical trials as well as Moderna’s commercial portfolio. This involves Technical Development, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Commercial, and Finance to ensure we provide the highest quality products at the right time according to patient and customer needs.
Over the summer, the Supply Chain and Quality MBA interns will be deeply embedded in their respective teams and engage cross-functionally as they execute critical projects that further Moderna’s ability to design, manufacture and deliver transformative medicines to patients. These interns will also leverage Moderna’s in-house LLM, mChat, and many other internal technology tools to help their teams ‘Digitize Everywhere’ as they work to improve relevant operational, financial, and strategic planning processes.
The ideal Supply Chain and Quality MBA Intern candidates draw from a broad base of prior pharmaceutical / biotech industry experience and are self-starters who are excellent at navigating ambiguity. They have proven experience driving operational excellence across complex supply chain or product portfolio operations, especially within healthcare, and excel at collaborating with cross-functional leaders to achieve the desired impact.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):
Currently enrolled as a 1st year in a full-time MBA program (planned graduation in Spring 2026)
4+ years experience pre-MBA in healthcare consulting, pharma, biotech, or similar experience in a professional services or investment capacity (e.g., management or strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital)
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):
Ability to perform and synthesize in-depth analyses of indications, products, and therapeutic areas, to integrate analysis and broader context into a recommendation, and to defend recommendation in a respectful, objective manner
Experience driving business process transformation and change
Proven experience delivering on initiatives and process improvements with complex business deliverables driving through to success
Experience with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and/or finance and the intersection of those functions
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to deliver a compelling narrative/message to senior stakeholders in the organization
Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and pivot fearlessly based on real-time data
Comfort with ambiguity and with designing and executing projects simultaneously
Commitment to learning about the science behind our mRNA platform technology, ideally grounded in academic or professional experience with a discipline related to drug discovery and development (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology)
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, demonstrated success with cross-functional collaboration, and a high EQ
A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative
