Job Title: Cultivation Technician I

Role Summary:
The Cultivation Technician I will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our cultivation facility. This entry-level position is instrumental in managing the early stages of our cannabis production, including propagation, as well as overseeing daily plant care activities throughout the vegetative and flowering cycles. The technician will also participate in harvesting, post-harvest processing, and packaging, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all cultivation areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Propagation: Execute effective propagation techniques to ensure a robust start for all plants.
- Vegetative and Flowering Plant Care: Provide routine care including watering, feeding, and implementing training techniques such as topping, trellising, and regular defoliation and pruning.
- Harvesting and Post-Harvest Handling: Assist in the harvesting process, and support the drying, curing, and trimming stages to prepare high-quality final products. Participate in packaging operations.
- Sanitation: Regularly clean and sanitize all cultivation tools, equipment, and areas, ensuring detailed sanitation logs are maintained.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of plant care, pest management, and corrective actions in cultivation logs and state compliance systems.
- Team Support: Assist with training new staff and perform other tasks as assigned by the Cultivation Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in horticulture or related field preferred.
- Experience in a plant cultivation setting; knowledge of cannabis cultivation is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to perform cultivation tasks.
- Compliance with legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Certification:
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Cannabis Handler’s Permit as required by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission prior to employment.
