Overview:
In this role, the Patient Access Lead serves as a resource to the Supervisor/Manager by providing expert guidance to co-workers, monitoring assigned area, training and mentoring team members and identifying and implementing workflow improvements. The Patient Access Lead has the knowledge and skills to perform all duties required by their assigned area.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience with medical terminology, insurance plans, verification of benefits, authorization and pre-determination. Participate in Preceptor training/experience.
- Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Some college preferred.
- Other: Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills required.
- Must possess ability to work in stressful situations, meet deadlines and perform daily responsibilities with consistent accuracy.
- Ability to use logic, good judgment and be able to rapidly identify and initiate corrective actions when problems arise.
- Must be able to communicate effectively providing good written and oral direction to co-workers.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff and insurance companies.
- Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
